Last month, I had a very special experience: a headshot photo session with photographer Shirley Sheung in Brooklyn. She proposed to shoot only in black & white, completely raw, with no Photoshop or filters. One of the pillars of my work is authenticity, so I loved the idea. I did my own makeup as I usually do, kept my moody curls just as they are, and wore pieces that truly represent me, the same ones you’ve probably seen before. Nothing was new. That’s what I call being true to my style. As we enter November, I invite you to do the same with your wardrobe, to create a little “Closet Gratitude.” Think about the pieces you love, why they still work, and how you can rediscover your favorites. I’ll be doing this exercise myself and will share some of my findings with you soon. I’d love for you to share yours with me, too.
