Balancing Feminine Style in Today’s Fashion
In recent seasons, fashion has leaned heavily toward oversized silhouettes and androgynous pieces: slouchy pants, structured blazers, loafers, sneakers, and crisp button-downs. These styles are interesting and modern, but many women I talk to tell me they’re craving something different.
They want to bring back a touch of femininity. Sometimes even a little sexiness.
Why This Matters
Style is always a reflection of how we feel and the message we want to send. While oversized and minimal styles have their place, it’s natural to want balance. Adding feminine elements can help outfits feel more personal, confident, and true to who you are.
How to Create That Balance
Mix strong and soft. Pair an oversized blazer with a lacy camisole, or slouchy pants with a delicate blouse.
Use accessories. Jewelry, a belt, or shoes with feminine details can completely shift the mood of an outfit.
Choose your fabrics. Leather, lace, silk, or knits with interesting textures often bring in that softer element.
Define your style goals. The right amount of femininity depends on your lifestyle, comfort, and how you want to present yourself.
My Role as a Stylist
When I work with clients, I help them find that sweet spot. For some, it means reintroducing dresses or skirts into their wardrobe. For others, it’s about subtle details, like a flattering neckline or a pair of earrings that brighten the face. The key is balance, always aligned with their personal style goals.
