Do Pearls Make You Look Older?
A question I received recently was: "Are pearls too traditional? Do they make me look older?"
I understand why so many women ask this. In fact, I recently had a client tell me that she loved her pearl necklace but never wore it because she felt she needed more formal clothes to go with it.
My answer is simple: pearls are not the problem. Like most accessories, it is all about how you wear them and whether they fit your personal style.
I wear pearls myself, including a classic pearl necklace. But I don't wear them in a way that feels overly traditional or formal for my lifestyle. Instead, I like mixing them with more casual pieces and wearing them in a way that feels authentic to me.
The good news is that there is no single right way to wear pearls.
Some women love a classic look. Others prefer a more modern or relaxed approach. Both can work beautifully.
If you have pearls sitting in your jewelry box because you are not sure how to wear them, I encourage you to experiment. Try them with pieces you already love. Pay attention to what feels like you.
Personal style is not about following rules. It is about finding ways to wear the things you love, so they fit your life today. And pearls can absolutely be part of that.
