How to mix and match prints and patterns
I know mixing prints isn't for everyone, but I frequently get questions about how to match different patterns. If you want to try it (and you should if you want to), I will give you some great tricks.
Here's how you can come up with stylish outfits with mixed prints:
Wear two different prints in the same color, such as black and white. It's easier this way.
Match prints with colors that are neighbors in the color wheel (or rainbow), such as blue and green. They look similar to our eyes because they share pigments.
Use varying prints scales. I mean, one of the prints should be bolder than the other. For example, one piece has bigger patterns while the other has smaller ones.
All of the ideas above are relevant when the prints are close to each other. Let's say you choose a floral scarf and pair it with animal print shoes, but everything is just one solid color in between. This combination will match beautifully. That's why having a bag, a scarf, a belt, or shoes with cool prints is the simplest way to go.
