How to style Summer bags

Looking for a simple way of transitioning a Spring outfit into a Summer one? A bag might be the answer!

I love how a straw, wicker or rattan bag can make an outfit look chic yet casual just like this season’s high temperatures demand.

I also love how democratic Summer bags are. You can find them in so many different styles and sizes!

I usually wear a large straw tote to the beach, but I have a mini one that I carry as a handbag, wearing with dresses or pants & tops in the city during Summer. They are also perfect for a casual al fresco dining! Plus, they fit me so well in spite of my short height. Another reason these bags are so popular is because you can find them in a wide range of prices as well. Some are even part of sustainable projects and made by skilled artisans in different communities all over the world, and that’s why they tend to cost more. But, looking on the bright side, there are also plenty of affordable options out there.

Since they have texture because of their material, they have the power of making the outfit more interesting, especially if you are sporting a monochromatic look, such as all white.

And here is a question that I often get:

“How do I match bags with shoes?”.

Well, as long as you choose summer casual looking shoes such as sandals, tennis shoes, or espadrilles, I’m positive that the outfit will look cohesive. My suggestion is just to avoid wearing a straw bag with boots, patent leather or any other fall/winter shoes.
