Is Summer Giving You the Shoppies?

I recently learned a new expression: the shoppies. It describes that urge to shop that often appears when the weather gets warmer, vacations are approaching, and Summer feels full of possibilities.

And honestly? I get it too. There is nothing wrong with wanting a few new things for the season. But before heading to the stores or filling your online cart, I always recommend starting with your own closet.

Take a look at what you already own. What still works for your lifestyle this summer? What pieces do you genuinely enjoy wearing?

Then think about your plans for the season. Are you traveling? Going to more outdoor events? Working in an office? Spending weekends at the beach? Your wardrobe should support your real life, not an imaginary version of it.

As you browse stores, pay attention to what is truly aligned with your personal style. Sometimes we are inspired by the mood of a destination or a trend, but that doesn't always mean the item will work well once we return home.

Often, all it takes is one to three new pieces to bring freshness to an existing summer wardrobe.

And one final reminder: don't buy something just because it's on sale. A great price doesn't make something a great purchase if it doesn't fit your style, your needs, or your wardrobe.

Enjoy your summer, and happy intentional shopping.
