Ponchos and Capes: how to look cozy and chic

Ponchos and capes appeared in the designers Fall 2020 fashion shows and this got me really excited because I love both.

The collections were presented in September 2019, much before the pandemic came to change our lives.

It's clear that we are not seeing the complete collections in the stores right now, after all many orders were canceled. The owners needed to think about their customers and what they would want to wear in the following months.

But luckily there are many ponchos to be found in the stores at the moment, so I selected here different price points - from $25 to $3,200.

Ponchos are cozy and ideal for many occasions. They have the power to make you look chic and comfy at the same time, not to mention how versatile they are.

We can wear them to attend a Zoom call, go for an outdoors brunch, do apple picking, or even watch Netflix.

If we have one in our wardrobe, it will most definitely still fit us - despite the fact that we gained or lost some weight during quarantine.

I am a huge fan of ponchos and capes because they are classic, feminine, comfortable and stylish. Plus, you don't have to worry about sizes.

You can easily style them with a skirt or pants and some beautiful boots. It's more appropriate for Fall than Winter, but if you really insist on wearing it on wintry days, you can even venture yourself into a bold outfit and wear a cape or poncho over a coat. I've done this before and it worked out nicely!

I have one poncho from Banana Republic from, at least, 15 years ago. That time when they had interesting and good quality pieces. Anyway, it looks perfect and it's extremely soft. I just wished it was a bit longer, but it's OK for my petite frame.

There are items in our wardrobe that are worth keeping, regardless if we wear every year or not. Ponchos are one of these!

This is a perfect time of the year for us to take a close look at what we have and move in the direction of having a curated wardrobe. I firmly believe in having a well edited closet that totally fits our personal style and lifestyle.
