Testing and Styling MM.LaFleur’s Fall Collection

Disclosure: Brands sometimes offer clothes to stylists so we can test and experience them before recommending them to clients. MM.LaFleur did not request any kind of advertisement in exchange, otherwise, I wouldn’t have accepted. I also refuse more gifts than I accept, especially when I feel a brand or piece doesn’t align with my personal style.

MM.LaFleur offered to gift me a few pieces from their Fall collection to test and style, so I can advise my clients better.

I started with these soft light blue tailored pants. I didn’t have anything in this color, and if you think it’s hard to match, it’s not!

Here are three ways I styled them:

  • With a camel turtleneck: a great layering piece for Fall/Winter, finished with a medium brown belt - a complementary combo.

  • With a navy short-sleeve shirt: I created a monochromatic look. Since the shirt is a bit long for my 5’3” frame, tucking it in was the solution.

  • With olive green: I loved this mix even more when I wore the shirt back-to-front!

I liked the quality and the way the clothes fitted me. Just a note: if you’re petite, the pieces run on the longer side. I needed to send the pants to the tailor to be hemmed (which I usually do), and the shirts need to be tucked in,  both because of their style and length.

Here are the clothes I am wearing. I’d also like to recommend these khaki pants, which come in other colors. They have snaps at the hem, so they work for me (5'3") with both flats and 2–3" heels - very flattering!

I can’t wait to try these outfits again with wool coats, leather jackets, and boots as the weather cools down. Would you like me to show the next round of looks?
