Three tips about belts

Have you noticed that the Spring collections have really colorful clothes and accessories?

If you aren't in the mood to purchase any colorful pieces now, that's fine. You can always play with different color combinations by adding accessories, such as belts.

Last week, I put on the shirt and pants in the picture above. They aren't new and I have worn them a lot. But when I add different belts, it completely changes the message and the proportions of my outfit.

  • If you pick a belt in the same color as your shirt, it elongates your torso, not your legs. Take into consideration your proportions as well as the style of your pants.

  • If you choose a belt in the same color as your pants, it will elongate your legs. This is a great trick for Petites!

  • When you wear only two colors, your outfit will look more classic. If you add a third color, it will look more playful and creative. You can tell the difference in the photos.

Consider the message you want to deliver, and how you want to feel.

A quick tip:

Three colors together create a combination called triadic. If it looks too colorful for you, read this post that shows several ideas for wearing the same color combo.

By the way, these belts are from Beltbe. They offer a courtesy discount to my clients and followers, just add the code MARCIAVIP.
