How to Wear Culottes: Outfit Ideas for Different Occasions
One question I received recently was: Are culottes back? And are they easy to wear? My answer is yes.
Whenever I buy something new, especially a piece that is a little different from what I already own, I like to test it before deciding if it deserves a place in my wardrobe. I create different outfits for different occasions and moods. If I can think of several ways to wear it, I know it will be a useful addition.
That is exactly what I did with these culottes. First, I styled them with a shirt in a different shade of blue. Then I tried them with a white top and added a striped green sweater around my waist for a more casual look. I also experimented with a boxier shirt, leaving it untucked to create a different silhouette.
For an evening look, I paired the culottes with a light brown shirt and remembered I had a pair of cobalt blue sandals tucked away in my closet. Sometimes a new piece encourages us to rediscover things we already own.
Finally, I created a brighter, more casual outfit and added a denim jacket to balance the colors.
The result? These culottes passed the test and are staying in my wardrobe.
