Visiting the Exhibition "Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses"

Last week I visited the exhibition Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, and I am still thinking about it. Of course, it is about fashion, but it is also about so much more.

The exhibition explores the connection between fashion, science, nature, technology, and innovation. It also offers a fascinating look into Iris van Herpen's creative process and the extraordinary craftsmanship behind her work. She presents her collections at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week.

As someone who works in fashion and spends a lot of time helping clients think about clothing, personal style, and self-expression, I always enjoy seeing fashion presented as an art form. The pieces on display often feel more like sculptures than garments.

What impressed me most was the attention to detail. Every piece seemed to reveal something new the longer I looked at it. There is so much creativity, experimentation, and technical skill involved in creating these designs.

The exhibition is beautiful and inspiring. At times, it is even a little overwhelming because there is so much to take in. I left feeling inspired and believing that one visit was not enough. I definitely need to go back.

If you have the opportunity to see this exhibition, I highly recommend it. The exhibition is at Brooklyn Museum until December 6th, 2026.
