Style Tip for Summer’s End: Observe What You Actually Wear
This time of the year, mid-August, is a bit of a style limbo.
Sales are wrapping up, and let’s be honest: most of the interesting pieces are gone. At the same time, Fall collections are starting to arrive in stores… and if you’re in the New York area like many of my clients, I know you’re not ready to talk about sweaters and boots just yet. It’s still hot!
It’s even too soon to talk about transitional wardrobes.
So here’s what I suggest instead:
Pay attention to what you’re actually wearing this summer.
Do you find yourself reaching for dresses?
Do you prefer prints or solids?
And if you like prints: what kind? Floral? Geometric? Abstract?
Start creating an album on your phone with photos of your Summer outfits. You don’t need to post them; this is just for you. Over time, you’ll notice patterns that reflect your real preferences and habits. That insight can help you so much, especially when packing for a vacation or shopping with intention next season.
It’s a simple exercise, but it can make a big difference.
