One Big Flower Brooch, Many Possibilities
I loved the idea of wearing a big flower brooch on a tank top strap when I saw it in a Tory Burch collection.
As I always say, when we get inspired by an outfit, we usually don’t need to buy the same pieces to recreate the idea or the feeling of the look.
So, I went to my closet.
I found a very large black flower brooch that I bought years ago from this store and tried it on a black tank top I already own. For the bottom, I chose brown satin wide-leg pants. And yes, brown and black look beautiful together.
For a chilly Summer or early Fall evening, I would add a black linen blazer. I like how that would change the black-and-brown proportions in the outfit. For shoes, I could wear black or brown, or add a pop of color with red.
And when the weather gets colder, I can replace the tank top with a sweater and use the same brooch. In that case, I would use a magnetic brooch back to protect the knit.
One idea, many possibilities.
That’s what I like about using outfits as inspiration instead of copying them. Look at what you already have in your closet and think about how you can recreate the idea in your own way.
