Speaking at the Color Analysis Conference in Portugal
I was honored to be invited as a guest speaker at the fifth edition of the Conferência Brasileira de Cores, organized by Studio Immagine Brasil e Europa, held in Porto, Portugal, this past week.
The conference brought together stylists and color analysis professionals, mostly from Portugal, as well as from other European countries and Brazil.
In the first day of the conference
During my presentation, I shared my journey as a stylist and color analyst over the past 18 years. I talked about how my approach to Color Analysis has evolved, what I have learned from my clients over the years, and the role of our profession in the age of Artificial Intelligence.
Today, many AI apps promise to determine your color palette in less than a minute. But I believe nothing can replace spending around two hours with a client, getting to know her, understanding her needs, her personal style, and what she wants to communicate through her image.
And, of course, nothing replaces the trained eye of an experienced color analyst. This comes not only from years of practice and continuous education, but also from developing an eye for color through fashion, art, and everything around us.
One of the most valuable lessons from my years working with clients is that Color Analysis is not simply about finding someone's best colors. It's about understanding the person wearing them.
I am still receiving wonderful feedback about my presentation, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share my experience and connect with fellow professionals.
It was a very special experience!
