Swimwear 2025 Guide, Part 2: How to Choose a Flattering Swimsuit

If you read Part 1, you already saw some inspiration for vacation-ready swimsuits and beach accessories. In this second part of the Swimwear 2025 Guide, I want to share tips for choosing a swimsuit that feels flattering, whatever your body shape or style goals.

It’s not about rules. It’s about knowing how to highlight what you love and feel good in your own skin.

Quick Tips by Body Concern or Feature

  • Long torso or short legs?
Go for a high-cut leg to elongate the body—this works for both bikinis and one-pieces.
One-pieces can be tricky if you have a very long torso, but there are options (check the guide!). Try a few to make sure they feel comfortable.

  • Full bust?
Halter styles or curved prints can help balance proportions. Swimsuits with built-in underwire can offer extra support.

  • Small bust?
Add volume with ruffles, high necklines, or light padding. These create visual interest and balance.

  • Full hips?
Avoid side ties and opt for mid-rise or high-cut bottoms for a clean, elongating line.

  • Full midsection?
Look for ruching details and busy prints—they help camouflage and create a flattering shape. In the guide, I’m showing some one-piece options that my clients really love!

How to Highlight What You Love

Want to bring attention to your favorite features?
Use embellishments, ruffles, bright colors, or cutouts in the areas you want to highlight.

And don’t worry if you need to size up in swimwear—it’s totally normal.
If you’re unsure, order your usual size and one size up to compare.

Extended Sizes

The same principles apply for extended sizes. You can choose to camouflage or highlight areas based on what makes you feel your best. The guide includes pieces with thoughtful fit and style options for different body types.
