Swimwear 2025 Guide, Part 1: Vacation & Staycation Essentials

Memorial Day is around the corner, meaning swimsuit season is officially here.

I know how challenging it can be for many women to shop for swimwear and feel good in it. But let me remind you: Summer is too short not to enjoy it.
And I promise—there’s a swimsuit out there for everyone. Whether your priority is comfort for being with kids or playing sports, or something that camouflages areas you’re not totally happy with, you have options.

For this first part of the Swimwear 2025 Guide, I’m sharing ideas for swimsuits, cover-ups, and accessories—whether you’re heading on vacation or enjoying a summer staycation.

For Vacation

Personally, I love a good one-piece—especially on trips, since it can double as a top. When I look for a cover-up, I always choose something that could take me straight from the beach to lunch or a little sightseeing. The goal: to feel stylish without overthinking it.

Some of my go-to pieces:
– A caftan (yes, even though I’m petite!)
– A linen button-down shirt—timeless and chic
Shorts for restaurant stops or casual outings
A straw hat, sunglasses, and a beach bag (essentials!)
Havaianas—because nothing beats them for beach footwear

I love jewelry, but I keep it simple at the beach: just hoops and my wedding rings.

For Staycations

Whether you’re staying local or heading to a nearby beach, think of comfort and pieces that feel like you. Even simple updates like a fresh pair of sandals or a fun tote can make things feel exciting again.

I also added a few beach beauty essentials to this guide. I’ve been loving the Supergoop Glow Screens -Sunrise and Golden Hour are my favorites!

These are just ideas that work for me. You can choose what works for you based on your style, body, and plans. Here are more options.

Stay tuned for Part 2, where I’ll share tips on choosing swimsuits that flatter your silhouette. And yes, I’ll include some picks for men, too!
