An Outfit to a Baby Shower, Styled a Little Differently
I was invited to a baby shower. As the saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers,” and yes, it was a rainy Spring Sunday.
Instead of overthinking what to wear, I decided to be a bit creative with what I already had.
I started with a tuxedo-style shirt. Usually, this is the kind of piece we think about wearing in a more classic way: tucked into tailored pants, maybe for an evening or something more formal.
But that wasn’t the mood. I wanted something a bit more relaxed. So I wore the shirt untucked over a pair of barrel jeans. Already, the outfit felt different, more casual, but still polished.
Then I made a small adjustment that changed everything. To give the shirt a bit more shape, I added a brooch on the back, gently pulling the fabric in. It’s a simple trick, but it makes the piece feel more intentional and a little unexpected.
For shoes, I chose my blue slingbacks. And even though you don’t see it in the photo, I added a small red leather pouch as my bag, just to bring a bit of contrast and personality.
And one important detail: none of the items were new, just the way I wore them.
