One Navy Dress, Different Looks

You have a navy blue dress that you wear the same way every time: with black sandals and silver accessories. It works, of course. But this dress is probably perfect for wearing in different ways and for different occasions.

Here, let’s focus on color combinations to create different vibes for the same dress. I like to use the idea of the color wheel, especially analogous color combinations, which means colors that are next to each other on the wheel. For blue, that means greens and purples. When you start to bring these colors into your outfit, everything changes, even if the dress stays the same.

Think about green earrings. Depending on the design, they can make the look feel more elegant or more relaxed.

Add a green clutch, and the outfit already feels different.

If you don’t have purple jewelry, a scarf is a beautiful option, especially for a trip, when you want something light and versatile.

And if you enjoy bold jewelry, this is also a way to make the dress feel more casual and more in line with your personal style.

The point is not to buy more. It’s to look at what you already have in a different way. Small changes, especially with color, can give new life to pieces you already love.

A Note from Me

I get questions from clients and followers about how to make their outfits feel less repetitive.

This is something we work on all the time during styling sessions: learning how to create more outfits with what you already own.

Because a well-used wardrobe is about knowing how to use the pieces you have.
