My Search for Stylish Shoes That Actually Fit

Note: This is not a paid post; it is an honest story that I hope will help you

I have always loved shoes since I was a little girl. I can still remember some of the shoes I had, how long I had to wait to get them for a birthday or holiday, and how carefully I chose the color I wanted.

To this day, I believe a good pair of shoes can completely change an outfit, making it feel more current, modern, or refined.

Quality is important, but quality and comfort are not always the same thing. I don't know how you feel about it, but I find that some high-end shoes are not comfortable at all, at least not for me. We all have different feet, so I could never promise that a specific pair of shoes will be perfect for everyone.

In my case, I have medium-to-wide feet, according to the measuring devices some stores use. I've started paying more attention to this over the years, especially because our feet tend to change and often widen as we get older.

For the first time, I decided to buy wide-width shoes. They were easier to find from brands known for comfort and at more accessible price points. Stylish brands offering a wide range of sizes were harder to find, though there are some exceptions.

I bought my first pair of Margaux wide-width shoes last year: flat sandals with thin straps. If you have wide feet, you know how uncomfortable thin straps can become on a hot day. When I tried those sandals, my feet were in heaven. After that, I tried boots and heeled sandals. So far, so good.

I have also noticed that the brand works well for clients facing the opposite challenge and needing narrow shoes. Finding sandals that fit properly can be just as difficult for them.

Margaux's shoes are made in Spain and come in a variety of widths, which is still surprisingly difficult to find. In terms of pricing, they are not inexpensive, but they are also not at the level of many luxury brands. Considering the quality, materials, and fit options, I think they offer a good balance.

Here are some of the styles I have tested over the past year:
