Inside Ruti’s Reopened Store in NYC: My Favorite Finds for Spring

I was invited to the soft opening of Ruti’s reopened store in New York, located on Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side. After closing during the pandemic, it was great to see the brand back in the city, featuring its classic pieces, loved by longtime customers, alongside new Spring arrivals.

Over the years, I have often talked on Instagram and in some previous posts about their “On the Loose Work Pants.” Despite the name, they became my favorite travel pants, and I still recommend them frequently to clients.

They are made of nylon with spandex, have an elastic waist, and a relaxed barrel-leg shape. All of this makes them extremely comfortable and practical. They are easy to spot-clean and simple to wash in a hotel or Airbnb, which is something I always appreciate when traveling.

Another reason I love them is their versatility. They look great with sneakers, which are my main travel shoes and double as workout shoes, but they also work beautifully with flat sandals or low heels for the evening.

I also own their Petite Palazzo Jeans, which fit me perfectly. I chose the petite length for both styles. With low heels, the length works very well for me. If I wanted to wear higher heels, I would choose the regular length instead.

During my visit, I had the chance to try several new pieces. One was the “Woke Up Like This Button Down Top,” a classic white shirt with a modern twist. I also loved the “Oversized Cropped Button Up,” especially because, as you know, I have always had a soft spot for button-downs and stripes.

I also tried the “Slouchy Soft Twill Pants” in scarlet. When someone asked me if I would wear red pants, my answer was very simple: of course. Why not?

The piece that truly stood out to me, though, was the olive green “Utility Swing Jacket.” It felt like the perfect spring jacket. It is slightly cropped in the front and longer in the back, creating a flattering, modern shape. I do not own any light jackets in this color, so it immediately felt like a great addition to my wardrobe.

I chose a medium size, slightly oversized, with enough room to layer over a sweater on cooler days.

Visiting the store and trying these pieces in person reminded me how important it is to understand fit, fabric, and proportions in real life. This is exactly what enables me to guide my clients with confidence and honesty as they build their wardrobes.

If you’re starting to think about your spring wardrobe and would like personalized guidance, Style Bliss may be the perfect next step for you. It’s my signature service for building a thoughtful, versatile wardrobe that truly fits your life.
