Uniqlo Pieces That Caught My Eye for Transitional Weather
I stopped by Uniqlo recently to see the new collection, and a few pieces caught my eye. This time of the year can be tricky to shop for. It is still warm, but transitional weather is coming. I like to look for pieces that can be worn now and later, especially ones that are easy to layer.
Here are a few things I noticed.
Light jackets
There were several light jackets that would be easy to wear when the temperature starts changing. I particularly liked one with a velvet collar. A small detail like this can make a simple jacket much more interesting.
I also noticed some nylon jackets. They are casual, practical, and easy to layer over different outfits.
Culottes
Culottes are another great transitional piece. You can wear them now with sandals or flats and a light top, and later with a sweater, jacket, and closed shoes. I always like pieces that give us possibilities across more than one season.
Henley shirts
There were several Henley shirts in the new collection. I would style them very simply, inspired by The Row: with relaxed trousers, a beautiful belt, simple shoes, and minimal accessories.
Sometimes it is not the individual piece that makes an outfit interesting. It is how you style it.
Cardigans and polo sweaters
Light cardigans are useful right now for freezing offices and restaurants, and they will become an extra layer when the weather gets cooler.
I also liked the polo sweaters. They look great on their own, but I particularly like the idea of wearing one under a blazer.
Casual sweaters
There were plenty of casual sweaters too. One had a zipper detail that caught my attention, and another looked almost like a sweatshirt but was actually a sweater. It came in several colors.
These are the types of pieces that can make a casual wardrobe feel a little more interesting without being complicated.
Lots of styling possibilities
I also saw casual polos and more light jackets that could work in many different combinations. What I liked about this new collection was not one particular trend. It was the number of simple, practical pieces that can be styled in different ways and layered as the weather changes.
I am also starting to think about what I will pack for an early fall trip, so transitional pieces are definitely on my mind right now.
